October 2011

Oughterard Accommodation

3rd October 2011

The season finally ended on the 30th September following the lowest Summer temperatures in years. Ironically some of the last days of September were the hottest of the year – but most of the good weather was in Dublin!

Trout fishing wise it was a disappointing year with fewer anglers fishing the Corrib than in recent years. This was in part due to disappointing catches in May due to poor fishing conditions and the lack of nice evening weather over the summer – for dry fly fishing. At least Lough Mask produced some good fishing and in line with local trends Lough Corrib will follow either next year or the year after!!

To our regular anglers for April and May its time to ensure your booking for the coming season. We have received a number of new bookings so please book to ensure your ‘spot’ is still available!!
