March has arrived along with the daffodils. There is good duckfly fishing on the lake in fact most anglers have encountered fish and the recent survey of adult fish in the lake revealed good stocks of trout comparable with the last survey in 1996.

At the weekend we have the St. Patrick’s Day celebrations. This included the local St Patrick’s day parade – for the 8th year in a row. The parade featured not one but two excellent Titanic ship floats – well done Oughterard.

Deirdre helped the Tidy Town’s effort promoting biodiversity with her colourful wheelbarrow!!
