Fishing was good on Lough Corrib for anyone who braved the challenging weather. Many local anglers enjoyed some great trout fishing on the “Dap”, some using artificial Mayflies and others Daddy Long Legs.

Our son  Christopher returned home recently and he took  father and son, Christian and Aaron Sommer from Marburg  out fishing. The had a great day’s sport, hooking 6 fish, returning 5. The best one was 2.5lbs and was caught on a red ribbed Mayfly.

Christopher also had the unusual experience of landing a fish eye!

Now we are into the final month of the fishing season, there are plenty of trout waiting to be caught so have a look in your diary and see can you take some time out to cast a line before the end of the season
