July , Galway Arts festival, Galway Races and Salmon runs

I always find that July slips by very quickly, there is so much happening, what with tennis, football not to mention salmon on the move its all go here at Camillaun Lodge.

Reports of a large number of salmon passing up through the weir in Galway has reached all ears here including our canny Heron who is perched on one of your boats for hours on end,

Greg caught a lovely salmon-6lb  on the weir last week one touch and one take!

Those of you who are familiar with Lough Corrib know what a gem we have with Inchagoill Island, it is a beautiful island, over the last 2 years Coillte and Fisheries FAS scheme have been doing great work unveiling the old village on the island, clearing back the massive growth revealing the remains of what was once a vibrant village. An official unvealing occurred last Sunday A visit to this island is so worth while

The Foxgloves are amazing

The bees are keeping Greg busy looks like we need to create a new hive

What with the long days and warm wet weather we are having at the moment, there is a serious amount of growth occurring which is good and bad- the weeds are getting hold!

We are still watching out for any signs of Mayfly and will keep you posted
