As we approach May 2020 we look back at what happened last year! Some of the best fishing in the mayfly 2019 happened at the end of April in the cross over from Olive fishing to Mayfly fishing. Its all about the weather. Good windy south westerly winds are the favourite but these were not often apparent. In recent years we have had our fair share of cold easterly winds which does not bring warm evenings and makes fishing slow. The Mayfly hatch is also key and there were only a small number of days with strong hatches throughout the day. That being said the amount of Mayfly in July is now substantial!!
