Well September and October saw the Rugby World Cup in Japan. Lucky Christopher headed off with a ‘College’ of Veterinary Surgeons (yes that’s the collective noun!) and they all did us proud shouting for Ireland. The Scotland match was a ‘battle royale’ with Ireland coming out on top but Japan was a banana-skin. The other matches went as predicted against Russia and Samoa but the loss to Japan pitched us against New Zealand in the quarter finals – as we came from the harder side of the draw. A wonderful time was had by all the travelling Irish. Those at home added their support of course.
