Before we leave May the summer has arrived in glorious fashion and it has coincided with the Bank holiday – well that’s probably a first. Whats more, instead of being flat out looking after our guests we have the entire house to ourselves and the lake to the locals. So I headed out at dawn to enjoy beautiful Lough Corrib at 5.00am. There were some Caenis around but also a steady breeze. Later we headed to Inishannagh for a picnic and a bit of fishing. Christopher was also out and caught a couple of fish, this one on the dryfly. The resident mallard in the river has managed to keep all 9 of her chicks alive – they are now getting quite big.
