January has brought some winter weather – be it really cold nights when the river becomes warmer than the air and even a rare fall of snow. Being near the Atlantic coast we rarely get snow due to the sea temperature influence on the prevailing winds from the South West. We continue to keep to ourselves and when possible get out for a walk within 5km of our home. We, in fact, surprised ourselves with a 17km walk on Saturday within a 5km radius of the house – I think we nearly bit off too much!!
Spring is coming and the snowdrops are standing proud in the garden – soon the first daffodils will brave the short days. The really cold snap has passed and our snow is sadly gone – we are back into the drizzle! But thanks to the Tucks on Main Street their snowman was a reminder that we must all wear a face mask when in the village – well done.
