Continental Corrib at the end of August

P1130449

At the end of August the lake is probably its warmest and the trout are hiding in the deeper colder water. Time to leave the trout alone and relax! In the warm days we were either heading to the beach or for a swim on Lough Corrib. There is nothing nicer than a swim at Inchagoill in the evening sun. The lake is often quiet and beautiful at this time of year. The deeper you kick when swimming brings up much colder water from underneath! remember – in freshwater you are not nearly as buoyant as in the sea so you should not go out of your depth unless you are a strong swimmer, which we are not!
