Taken in the order of your choosing:
Day 1: Relax and get to know your surroundings
After breakfast take a 2-3 hour looped walk around the village of Oughterard, find some of the hidden gems of this area. A packed lunch will be provided. Return to Camillaun Lodge in the afternoon, enjoy the garden and the facilities of the lodge- hot tub, tennis court, games room or simply stretch out on sofa and read a book.
Afternoon tea is served at 4.00pm
Evening: A short walk via a leafy lane will bring you into Oughterard village where you can enjoy the many restaurants and pubs
Day 2: A Good Walk Maamturks
Explore part of the Western Way between Oughterard and Maam. 5-6 hours walk Follow the shores of Lough Corrib along the Glann road, enjoy beautiful views of the lake and the surrounding countryside, continue through forestry tracks and on to a board walk, take in the spectacular views of Connemara and the Maam Turk Mountains. Packed lunch provided
Pick up by taxi and returned to Camillaun Lodge in time for Afternoon Tea
Day 3: A Day on the lake
Time to explore the lake. Take one of our boats moored in the garden, with packed lunch, life jackets, map and fishing rod discover the wonders of Lough Corrib and its many islands. Visit historic Inchagoill Island, famous for its ancient churches and burial grounds, take the beautiful walk around the island.
Return to Camillaun lodge and maybe stay an extra night! Map, life jackets and wet gear provided.
