Get to know some local history. Take a short drive to Glengowla Silver and Lead Mines situated 2 miles west of Oughterard and find out about the life of a miner in the 1800’s. Return to Oughterard Village for lunch in one of the local restaurants or bars.

Return to Camillaun Lodge for afternoon tea, Relax and enjoy the facilities of the Lodge
After breakfast, visit Aughanure Castle, built by the mighty O Flaherty’s in the 1500’s, it is one of the best preserved Tower Houses in Ireland. Continue to the Celtic themed gardens of Brigit’s Garden where you can enjoy a coffee or lunch and explore the gardens.

Time to explore the lake. Take one of our boats moored in the garden, with packed lunch, life jackets, map and fishing rod discover the wonders of Lough Corrib and its many islands. Visit historic Inchagoill Island, famous for its ancient churches and burial grounds, take the beautiful walk around the island.
